Let’s get one thing out of the way: I didn’t always have it together when it came to plants.
I was the person who optimistically bought a peace lily, stuck it on a windowsill (or was it close to the radiator?), watered it like it owed me money, and then watched it slowly wilt into a soggy mess. RIP, Lily. You deserved better.
If you’ve ever looked at a plant and thought, “Please just tell me what you want“, then congratulations – you’re my people. Welcome to Chlorophile – your new favourite cornder of the internet for houseplant highs, lows, and finally figuring out what “bright indirect light” actually means.

So why start this blog?
Because I was tired of wading through endless Pinterest-perfect jungle rooms and expert-only advice that made me feel like I needed a botany degree just to keep a spider plant alive.
I wanted a space that’s less plant snobbery, more let’s learn this together and laugh at the casualties along the way. A place where the advice is actually helpful, the tone isn’t condescending and nobody’s judging you for asking, “Wait….is this root rot?”
what you’ll find here:
Think of Chlorophile as your plant-loving friend who’s slightly chaotic but always enthusiastic – the one who’s tried and failed and tried again, and is now finally getting the hang of it (and ready to spill the tea).
Expect:
- Easy-to-follow plant care tips (minus the Latin)
- Quizzes to match you with your ideal plant soulmate
- Cheat sheets to help you remember which green babies like what
- And weekly blog posts with enough banter to keep things breezy
We’re not chasing perfection here – we’re aiming for survival with a side of growth!

Who’s this blog for?
If you’re a houseplant enthusiast with more hope than horticultural know-how – you’re in exactly the right spot.
Whether you’ve got one lonely pothos on a shelf, or a flat slowly taken over by your leafy addition, then Chlorophile is your place.
So grab a cuppa, give your fiddle leaf fig a loving side-eye, and settle in. We’ve got a lot to learn, a lot to laugh about, and maybe – just maybe – a plant paradise to create.
TL;DR: This blog is for real people with real lives and real plants (some of which are definitely not thriving right now). You’re not alone, and you’re absolutely welcome here.
